Vice President Kamala Harris reportedly sought spiritual guidance on the night she decided to run for President of the United States.

According to Rev. Amos C. Brown, Harris phoned him after a Sunday service at Third Baptist Church of San Francisco, requesting prayers for her upcoming campaign.

Rev. Brown recalled Harris saying, “Pastor, I want you to pray for me, my husband Doug, this country, and the presidential race I intend to run.” The two exchanged pleasantries, and Rev. Brown congratulated Harris on her decision, expressing his confidence in her potential as a great President.

They shared a prayer together, with Rev. Brown expressing gratitude for Harris’ graciousness.

During their conversation, Rev. Brown reminded Harris of the teachings of Micah 6:8, emphasizing the importance of justice and humility. He noted that these values are essential for the nation, particularly after the Trump presidency.

Rev. Brown has known Harris and her family for over 20 years, describing her mother, Shyamala Gopalan Harris, as a “terrific scholar and scientist.” Harris’ father, Donald Harris, is a professor emeritus at Stanford University and a Baptist.
