Yagbonwura of Gonjaland Bars Lands Minister Samuel Abdulai Jinapor from Palaces
- The paramount chief of Gonjaland, has formally prohibited Samuel Abdulai Jinapor from entering any palace within the Gonja kingdom
- The ban on Jinapor entering Gonja palaces follows accusations from traditional leaders in West Gonja
- Yagbonwura's interpreters underscored the seriousness of the decree
The paramount chief of Gonjaland, Yagbonwura Building-Kunuto Soale Jewu, has issued a decree prohibiting Lands Minister Samuel Abdulai Jinapor from entering any palace within the Gonja kingdom.
This decision follows what Yagbonwura described as a breach of tradition and disrespect towards the traditional authority.
The ban stems from allegations by West Gonja traditional leaders that the minister has been meddling in local traditional affairs, causing widespread discontent among the people.
Yagbonwura’s interpreters emphasized the seriousness of the decree during a press conference, warning that any chief who defies the ban and grants Jinapor entry into their palace will face severe consequences.
“The king will refuse audience to any government delegation, political party, or individual visiting if it includes Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor until he respects traditional authority and norms,” they declared.
Local chiefs and leaders are expected to enforce the decree rigorously to uphold the authority of Yagbonwura within the Gonja kingdom.
