Former President John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has urged all party executives and members to remain vigilant for 72 hours during the upcoming December elections to ensure the integrity of the electoral process.
Mahama emphasized that no party executive should rest during the polling period, stressing the importance of protecting the people’s votes.
“We will not sleep on 7th December,” he affirmed during a mini rally in Accra following a health walk organized on Saturday, July 20, 2024. He assured Ghanaians of their commitment to safeguarding the ballots.
Additionally, Mahama called upon capable party members to undergo training in electoral procedures to serve as vigilant polling agents across various stations.
“We need to train you. Regardless of your capabilities, training in electoral matters is essential,” he stated, highlighting the role of trained members in monitoring and safeguarding the party’s votes at polling stations.
Once trained, Mahama emphasized that these members would be deployed strategically to ensure robust protection of ballots during the electoral process.
