Unemployed Youth Leader Allegedly Beheads Fulani Herdsman in Volta Region

In Alabota, North Tongu District of the Volta Region, a tragic incident unfolded as Sulley Hassan, a 40-year-old Fulani herdsman, was brutally killed by Selase Dotse, an unemployed youth leader.
The confrontation began when Dotse allegedly held Hassan’s son’s animals hostage and killed one of them.
When Hassan confronted Dotse about the incident, a heated argument ensued, culminating in Dotse allegedly beheading Hassan with a sharp cutlass before fleeing the scene.
Local authorities, led by Assembly member Tse Jupiter Zietor, swiftly responded to the incident. They discovered Hassan’s decapitated body near Dotse’s residence and initiated a search for the suspect, mobilizing community youth and informing the police.
Dotse was later apprehended in another community with Hassan’s severed head in his possession.
The police have taken custody of Hassan’s body and head, depositing them at the Tagadzi mortuary while investigations continue.
Dotse, who reportedly has a history of violence, including a previous stabbing incident, awaits further legal action pending the investigation’s outcome.
The Juapong District Police Commander, Supt. Mr. Promise Agbanyo, confirmed the incident but refrained from providing additional details, citing instructions from his superiors.
