Nigerian singer and songwriter Simi has described her newest musical endeavor, “Lost and Found”, as a “labour of love”, revealing the personal connection she shares with the project.
In a recent statement, Simi expressed her desire for listeners to reconnect with her music, saying: “I made this album and wanted people to listen and remember why they fell in love with me in the first place.”
As an artist who prides herself on storytelling, Simi emphasized the importance of her audience, stating: “Most of my songs are for the audience. I’m an artist and I tell stories. I love telling stories and painting pictures because people can see themselves in them. It just feels real and I use lots of pidgin in my songs.”
