China Denies Aiding Russia In Ukraine War
- Yi has rejected NATO's accusations
- NATO also accused China of hybrid activities
- China has proposed a peace plan
China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi has rejected NATO’s accusations that China is assisting Russia in its war against Ukraine, calling them “groundless” and “fabricated disinformation”.
Wang Yi emphasized that China has always been a force for peace and stability, and urged NATO to refrain from stirring up confrontation.
His comments came in response to a NATO declaration that accused China of providing large-scale support to Russia’s defense industrial base, including dual-use materials, drone and missile technology, and satellite imagery.
The US estimates that 70% of Russia’s machine tools and 90% of its microelectronics imports come from China.
NATO also accused China of conducting malicious cyber and hybrid activities, including disinformation.
President Joe Biden warned that China would face economic consequences if it continued to support Russia.
China has proposed a peace plan, which Ukraine has rejected, and maintains that it remains a neutral party in the conflict.
