Akufo-Addo: Mahama Unfit for Presidency, Lacks Innovation
- Akufo-Addo asserts that John Dramani Mahama lacks innovative and forward-looking ideas for the country
- Akufo-Addo compared Mahama to past Ghanaian presidents such as Jerry John Rawlings, John Agyekum Kufuor, and himself
- He argued Mahama's track record during his presidency was unsatisfactory to the electorate
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo asserts that John Dramani Mahama will not win the 2024 elections due to his lack of fresh ideas, citing his previous electoral defeat as evidence of his unsuitability for the presidency.
In his remarks at the unveiling of NPP running mate Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Akufo-Addo compared Mahama unfavorably to past presidents Jerry John Rawlings, John Agyekum Kufuor, and himself, all of whom served two terms.
He emphasized that Mahama’s rejection in his bid for a second term signifies his incapacity for leadership.
“He talks as though we are unaware of his track record,” Akufo-Addo stated. “Mahama has nothing new to offer. We have witnessed his performance during his tenure, which led to his defeat in his second attempt. Having proven unfit for the role previously, why should we now elect him? We will not!”
