The Ghana Police Service has responded to media reports alleging that Inspector-General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has been directed to proceed on leave.
In a statement released on Sunday, June 30, the Police Service clarified that these reports are false.
According to the statement, the Inspector-General of Police continues to fulfill his responsibilities and remains dedicated to leading the Ghana Police Service as mandated by President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo.
The Police Service urged the public to disregard the misinformation and treat it with the contempt it deserves.
