Gomoa Ojobi: Hospital Accused of Allegedly Dumping Elderly Patient In Bush
A shocking incident has come to light in Gomoa Ojobi, where a patient, believed to be in her late 60s, was allegedly dumped in a bush by an ambulance from Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital.
According to reports, the patient, who had been receiving treatment at the hospital after being involved in an accident, was discharged and left in the bush after hospital staff failed to identify her family members.
Residents of Gomoa Ojobi claimed to have witnessed the ambulance driver removing the patient from the vehicle and abandoning her in a wheelchair in the bush.
“I was shocked by what I saw,” said one resident in an interview. “The ambulance driver just left her there, like she was nothing.”
Apostle Robert Afraku, Chairman of the Gomoa Ojobi Community, has appealed to authorities and the Gomoa East Social Welfare department to intervene and rescue the patient.
“We need to act quickly to save her life,” he urged.
Despite attempts to reach out, the management of Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital declined to comment on the matter.
