  • Other banned items include flares, political messages, and cannabis.

UEFA has released a comprehensive list of prohibited items for fans attending the EURO 2024 matches in Germany. The 10-page list includes expected items like flares, political messages, and fireworks, but also surprisingly includes fruits.

According to the list, fans will not be allowed to bring fruits like apples, bananas, and oranges into the stadiums. The move is reportedly aimed at boosting sausage sales in Germany, and fans found with fruits may face punishment, including being banned from attending the rest of the tournament.

All food items will be seized at one of three security checkpoints outside each of the 10 stadiums, according to UEFA. However, the supporters’ guide specifically highlights fruits as prohibited items, without mentioning other food items.

Fans requiring medical care may be allowed to bring healthy snacks, but must notify the stadium authorities in advance to seek permission. Additionally, smoking, vaping, and cannabis are strictly forbidden in the stadiums.

Other banned items include megaphones, vuvuzela horns, Nazi flags, and materials supporting either side of the conflict in Gaza. This marks the first time Germany has hosted the UEFA European Championship since reunification, and the country is taking extensive measures to ensure a safe and secure environment for all fans.
