The Minority faction in Parliament has leveled accusations against the government, asserting that it is engaging in unlawful recruitment practices by enrolling NPP foot soldiers into the security services in anticipation of the 2024 general elections.

During a press briefing, Minority Leader Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson raised concerns, alleging that every NPP Parliamentary Candidate has been promised 30 recruitment slots within various security branches, in what appears to be a calculated move to influence the December polls.

Dr. Ato Forson emphasized that any unauthorized activities by these recruits, described as “NPP thugs in uniform,” would be met with staunch opposition from supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He criticized the government’s prioritization of partisan interests over the nation’s peace and stability, stressing that such actions would not go unopposed.

Dr. Ato Forson warned that the NDC is fully equipped to counter any attempts to manipulate the electoral process.

Directly addressing President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Alhaji Bawumia, Dr. Ato Forson declared that their endeavors to sway the 2024 elections would be futile.

He pledged that the NDC would vigorously resist any such schemes, holding those accountable for unlawful actions personally responsible.

In conclusion, Dr. Ato Forson cautioned NPP foot soldiers to abide by the law, cautioning them of severe repercussions for any unlawful behavior and assuring that the NDC’s supporters would defend themselves against any attacks.
