MoTCCA Issues Name Clarification

Story Highlights
  • Name reverts to the Ministry's original designation at its inception
  • MoTCCA reaffirms commitment to promoting tourism, culture, and creative industries
  • Statement signed by Mabel Delassie Awuku, Head of Public Relations

The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts (MoTCCA) has issued an official statement to clarify its correct name, following frequent inconsistencies in how it is referenced across media platforms and public discussions.

In a release signed by Mabel Delassie Awuku, Head of Public Relations, the Ministry stressed that its only legally recognized and official title is: MINISTRY OF TOURISM, CULTURE AND CREATIVE ARTS (MoTCCA).

The statement noted that the name reaffirms the Ministry’s expanded mandate, which now fully integrates the creative arts sector as a central component of Ghana’s tourism and cultural development efforts. It also signifies a return to the Ministry’s original designation at its establishment.

MoTCCA is calling on all stakeholders—particularly media organizations and government communicators—to consistently use the correct name in all official communications and publications.

The Ministry reiterated its commitment to advancing Ghana’s rich cultural heritage, unlocking the country’s tourism potential, and strengthening the creative arts industry as key pillars of national development.
