Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Communications Director, Ibrahim Sannie Daara, has thrown his support behind a possible move to Saudi Arabia for Thomas Partey, following the midfielder’s exit from Arsenal.

Partey, 31, is now a free agent after his contract with the Premier League club ended at the close of the 2024/25 season. Over five years at Arsenal, the Ghanaian midfielder made 167 appearances, scoring 9 goals and providing 7 assists.

He has reportedly drawn interest from several Saudi Arabian clubs, including Al Hilal and Al-Ahli, as well as European sides like Barcelona, Galatasaray, and Fenerbahce.

Speaking to 3Sports, Sannie Daara confirmed the growing interest in Partey and advised the player to seriously consider the financial benefits of a move to the Middle East at this stage in his career.

“The Saudi interest is real, and another club has joined those already keen on him,” Daara said. “There’s also interest from clubs in France and Italy. After July 5, he’ll have the clarity to decide his next move.”

He continued, “Let’s allow him these few days, but soon he’ll be playing for a great club. Personally, I’ve advised Thomas that at his age, he needs to think about financial security. The Saudi money is hard to ignore. I believe he should take it—it will benefit him long term.”

Partey is expected to make a final decision on his next club in the coming weeks.
