- Trucks are equipped with modern features for efficient and reliable waste collection
- The initiative ensures better service to underserved communities and emergency readiness
Zoomlion Ghana Limited has rolled out 100 of 200 newly acquired, advanced waste management trucks across the country, with the remaining 100 expected to arrive soon. This initiative is aimed at strengthening Ghana’s waste management infrastructure and promoting cleaner, healthier environments in all 16 regions.
The official launch of the new fleet in the Eastern Region saw Enoch Boahene, Chairman of the New Juaben South Municipal Sanitation Committee—representing the Eastern Regional Minister—praise the initiative. He emphasized that the deployment would improve waste collection efficiency and boost the capacity of districts to manage sanitation challenges effectively.

Boahene credited Zoomlion’s innovative waste handling strategies for preventing a sanitation crisis in Ghana.
“Without their innovations, waste could have overwhelmed us. But through their collection systems and recycling processes, we’ve avoided major sanitation breakdowns,” he stated.
He also cited his visit to parts of New Juaben where waste buildup had been quickly addressed thanks to Zoomlion’s collaboration with local assemblies.
“This joint effort significantly reduced sanitation problems that were emerging in the municipality,” he added.
Boahene called on traditional leaders, stakeholders, and citizens to support Zoomlion’s work, noting its critical role in improving national sanitation.
Emil Amoah, General Manager of 360 Waste Limited (a subsidiary of Zoomlion), said the fleet expansion is part of a broader strategy to modernize waste management and enhance public health services.
“This investment demonstrates our strong commitment to protecting the environment, improving health outcomes, and supporting sustainable urban growth,” he noted.
Each of the 200 trucks comes equipped with modern features designed to improve service delivery under various conditions. These enhancements allow for quicker, more reliable waste collection, better service coverage in underserved areas, and more robust response capacity during emergencies and peak periods.
The initiative focuses not just on waste collection but on delivering dependable, community-centered sanitation services. Every region will receive a portion of the fleet to reinforce local waste management efforts.
Zoomlion aims to reduce health risks tied to poor sanitation, enhance the cleanliness of cities and towns, and ensure fair access to quality waste services across Ghana.
The company continues to work closely with Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) to align national sanitation priorities with local needs.
“Our partnerships with local authorities are built on shared goals and mutual respect to provide high-quality service for all Ghanaians,” Amoah said.
The deployment underscores Zoomlion’s long-term dedication to sustainability—balancing environmental responsibility, economic viability, and positive social impact.
Local authorities and sanitation experts have welcomed the move, describing it as a timely and strategic step toward tackling Ghana’s growing urban waste management challenges.
