Asantehene To Meet Kusaug Council Over Bawku Conflict

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, is scheduled to meet with the Kusaug Traditional Council on Monday, June 30, 2025, in a key step toward restoring lasting peace in the conflict-affected town of Bawku.

The announcement was made in a statement from the Manhyia Palace on Sunday, underscoring the Asantehene’s deep and ongoing commitment to helping resolve the long-standing unrest in the region.

“His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, will meet with the Kusaug Traditional Council on Monday, 30th June 2025,” the Palace confirmed.

The statement also called on all parties involved in the Bawku conflict to lend their full support to the peace initiative.

“The Asantehene urges all stakeholders to cooperate in the interest of achieving lasting peace in Bawku.”
