Rihanna and A$AP Rocky made a striking appearance at the rainy world premiere of Highest 2 Lowest on Monday night (May 19) at the Cannes Film Festival in France — with their signature umbrella in tow.
Rocky, who stars in the film alongside Denzel Washington, arrived in style wearing a sleek black suit, black Ray-Bans, and a full set of grillz. Rihanna, glowing and visibly expecting, stunned in an electric-blue dress with cutouts and a chic scarf neckline that highlighted her growing baby bump.
The couple posed together under their umbrella as rain poured down on the red carpet, with Rocky at one point sweetly resting his chin on Rihanna’s shoulder and cradling her belly. This marks their second high-profile appearance this month, following Rihanna’s baby bump reveal at the Met Gala on May 5 — where the couple announced they are expecting their third child.
Speaking to reporters at the Met Gala, Rocky expressed his joy at finally sharing the news: “It feels amazing, you know? We were tired of holding that, and it was time to show the people what we was cooking up. I’m glad everybody’s happy for us, because we’re definitely happy.”
The film Highest 2 Lowest, a crime thriller directed by Spike Lee, reunites Lee with Denzel Washington for their fifth collaboration. A$AP Rocky plays Washington’s son, Yung Felon, and the movie also features rapper Ice Spice in her feature film debut. The film is scheduled for U.S. theatrical release on August 22.
Rihanna last walked the Cannes red carpet in 2017 for the screening of Okja, where she wore a white strapless gown with a matching robe and sunglasses.
