Dadiesoaba Nursing College Principal Appeals for Urgent Infrastructure Support

- Principal highlights lack of fence wall, lecture halls, and hostel and staff accommodation
- School marks 10 years of training nurses despite persistent infrastructure challenges
- College hopes anniversary will spark needed attention and development
The Principal of Dadiesoaba Nursing and Midwifery Training College in the Ahafo Region, Madam Marcelina Teni Kwose, has made an urgent appeal to the government and relevant stakeholders to address the institution’s critical infrastructure challenges.
Speaking to Adom News at the launch of the college’s 10th anniversary celebration, Madam Kwose outlined several pressing issues affecting the school, including the lack of a perimeter wall, insufficient lecture halls, inadequate hostel facilities for students, and no residential accommodation for staff.
She emphasized that the absence of a fence has left the campus vulnerable to disruptions from stray animals like pigs, sheep, and fowls, which frequently wander onto the school grounds and interrupt academic activities.
The principal also pointed out that the shortage of lecture rooms is hindering effective teaching and learning, especially given the school’s growing student population.
On accommodation, Madam Kwose lamented that despite the college’s decade-long service in training healthcare professionals, it still struggles with limited hostel space for students and lacks residential quarters for tutors — a situation she described as deeply concerning.
She expressed hope that the 10th anniversary would shine a spotlight on the school’s challenges and attract the necessary support for infrastructure improvements.
Joining the appeal, the Queen Mother of Dadiesoaba, Nana Fosuaa Wireko Ampem II, called on the government, private sector, and philanthropists to assist in bridging the infrastructure gap and enhancing the school’s learning environment.
