Charterhouse Addresses Ticketing Concerns at 26th TGMA

Story Highlights
  • Felicia Osei denied entry at TGMA over allegedly used ticket
  • Charterhouse confirms similar complaints surfaced in post-event review
  • System scans ticket and captures user’s face to prevent duplication

Robert Klah, Head of Public Events and Communications at Charterhouse Productions Ltd, has responded to complaints about ticketing issues during the 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards.

Content creator Felicia Osei had taken to social media to express frustration after being denied entry to the auditorium. According to her, checkpoint staff claimed her ticket had already been used.

In an interview with DJ Slim on Daybreak Hitz, Robert Klah acknowledged that similar reports came up during their post-event review.

“When we conducted our post-mortem, we received feedback about such issues,” he said. “We’ve identified various scenarios, including people sharing their tickets with others.”

He explained that the system used for entry scans both the ticket and captures the face of the user. If the same ticket is scanned again, access is automatically denied due to the mismatch.

Robert offered an apology to Felicia Osei for the inconvenience and embarrassment, stating that the organisers are working with vendors to investigate what went wrong.

“We’re truly sorry for the experience she had. It’s important for us to thoroughly examine the issue, determine what occurred, and ensure it doesn’t happen again,” he noted.

Charterhouse has pledged to improve its ticketing processes to avoid similar problems at future events.
