Ghana Explores Collaboration with DCAF to Strengthen Security Governance

Ghana’s Parliamentary Select Committee on Defence and Interior has engaged in high-level discussions with officials from the DCAF – Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance, focusing on potential partnerships to enhance national security governance.
The meeting, held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, was led by the committee’s Ranking Member, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, and Deputy Ranking Member, Kofi Amankwah Manu. Representing the committee, they explored avenues for collaboration aimed at strengthening Ghana’s security institutions and resilience.
Discussions also covered how Ghana could benefit from global best practices to bolster its reputation as a pillar of stability in the sub-region. The meeting emphasized institutional partnership opportunities between DCAF and security-related parliamentary committees in Ghana.
The committee highlighted the critical role such cooperation could play in promoting peace and stability both within Ghana and across West Africa.
