Fummey Selorm Philibert, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Nsawam Adoagyiri in both the 2020 and 2024 elections, has been officially confirmed as the new Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Nsawam Adoagyiri Assembly.

His confirmation followed a competitive and closely observed voting process, which was attended by the area’s Member of Parliament, Frank Annor Dompreh. Acting as an agent for the Electoral Commission, the MP witnessed Philibert secure 29 out of 38 votes cast by the assembly members.

After the Electoral Commission formally declared the results, NDC supporters erupted into celebration across the streets. Some were seen mocking Frank Annor Dompreh and his supporters, who were also gathered at the forecourt of the assembly.

In the wake of the confirmation, several residents shared their thoughts with Citi News, expressing hope and confidence in Philibert’s leadership.

“Selorm has won. We know what he can do, and that’s why we’ve been supporting him all these years. I’ve followed him for eight years, and I’m confident he will bring real change to Nsawam,” one resident said.
