King Promise Crowned Artiste of the Year at 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards

It was a night of destiny for King Promise as he dominated the 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), emerging as the biggest winner with four major accolades, including the prestigious Artiste of the Year title.

The celebrated singer swept both Afrobeats categories, winning Afropop Song of the Year for his hit “Paris” and Afrobeats/Afropop Artiste of the Year. His project True to Self also clinched Album/EP of the Year, recognized for its emotional depth and musical consistency.

The highlight of the evening came with the Artiste of the Year announcement, which brought the audience to its feet in celebration. Visibly emotional, King Promise took the stage and delivered one of the most touching acceptance speeches of the night.

Reflecting on his TGMA journey, he recalled the disappointment of receiving seven nominations without a single win in earlier years. After finally breaking the drought in 2024 with his first TGMA awards, his rise in 2025 to the top of Ghana’s music scene was both triumphant and symbolic.

He credited his success to God, giving special thanks to his longtime producer Killbeatz, whom he described as “the one who changed my life,” and his dedicated team, including Dancegod Lloyd.

“My team believed in me from day one. At my first TGMAs, I walked away with no wins. Today, I stand here as Artiste of the Year. I am the chosen one,” he said.

In a touching moment that aligned perfectly with Mother’s Day, King Promise invited his parents on stage and dedicated his win to them, moving many in the crowd.

To his fans and aspiring young talents, he offered a powerful message of hope and perseverance:
“If you’re watching this and you have a dream, look at me. They laughed, I worked harder. I believe in God’s timing — and this is my time.”
