In-form Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare has received a brand-new car from Alhaji Seidu Agongo, CEO of Class Media Group, as a reward for his impressive performances and rising popularity.

The vehicle was presented to Asare on Wednesday at the club’s commercial centre, following a viral video that sparked widespread admiration. The footage showed Asare commuting in a public “trotro” just days after making his debut for the senior national team, the Black Stars.

The former Great Olympics shot-stopper featured in Ghana’s recent international wins against Chad and Madagascar, earning praise for his composure and skill. The video triggered a wave of public support, with calls for greater recognition and improved treatment of locally-based players.

In an emotional response to the gift, Asare thanked fans and supporters:
“I’m deeply grateful to Hearts of Oak supporters and everyone who has shown me love. This is truly a humbling gesture. I appreciate the entire nation, the president, my coach Ouattara, and all those who’ve helped me along the way. God willing, we’ll be at the World Cup,” he said.

Asare has been one of the top performers in the Ghana Premier League this season, keeping 15 clean sheets in 24 matches—playing a key role in Hearts of Oak’s campaign.

With four games remaining, the Phobians trail league leaders GoldStars by 10 points and are set to face Berekum Chelsea on Matchday 31.
