Black Sherif, the hitmaker behind “Kwaku the Traveller,” has secured a prestigious nomination for Best International Act at the 2025 BET Awards, proudly representing Ghana on one of the world’s most prominent entertainment platforms.

This nomination places him among global stars like Ayra Starr and Rema (Nigeria), Tyla (South Africa), Any Gabrielly and MC Luanna (Brazil), Ezra Collective and Basky (UK), Joé Dwèt Filé and SDM (France), and Uncle Waffles (Swaziland).

The 25th edition of the BET Awards will air live on June 9 from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, with comedian Kevin Hart hosting the event.

This year’s show marks a significant milestone for the BET brand, with Kendrick Lamar leading the nominations with 10 nods, including Album and Video of the Year.

The nominees for Best New International Act were also revealed, including Shallipopi (Nigeria), Abigail Chams (Tanzania), Dlala Thukzin (South Africa), and emerging talents from Brazil, the UK, and France.
