Asutifi North DCE Vows Action on Poor Sanitation Conditions

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Asutifi North in the Ahafo Region, Hafiz Dauda, has raised serious concerns about the deteriorating sanitation situation in the district and has pledged swift action to address the issue in the interest of public health.

During an inspection tour of refuse sites in Kenyasi, Mr. Dauda expressed his dismay in an interview with Adom News, stating that the poor state of sanitation was alarming—especially given the district’s ongoing implementation of the Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) programme over the past several years.

He pointed out that many refuse dumps lack proper waste containers, and the district currently lacks adequate vehicles to transport waste to official disposal sites on a consistent basis.

Mr. Dauda stressed the urgency of improving sanitation infrastructure to prevent potential health crises, particularly in communities located close to unregulated dumping grounds.

He reaffirmed his commitment to improving the district’s sanitation standards and urged residents to take personal responsibility by adhering to sanitation guidelines.
