The Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) has completed the disbursement of three months’ arrears in teacher trainee allowances for the 2023/2024 academic year, benefiting 65,685 students across 46 colleges of education nationwide.
In a statement signed by Acting CEO Dr. Saajida Shiraz, the SLTF emphasized that the payments align with its mandate to support tertiary students and reflect the government’s broader education reset agenda aimed at strengthening student support systems.
The Fund reaffirmed its commitment to timely and transparent disbursements, with measures underway to ensure consistency and reliability in future payments.
Finance Minister Dr. Ato Forson, in the 2025 Budget Statement, confirmed that teacher and nursing trainee allowances will continue under the new fiscal year, with a budget provision to prevent future delays.
