Fuel Prices Drop Again in Ghana from April 16

- Petrol price drops by 1.5% to GH₵14.88 per litre
- Diesel price falls by 0.3% to GH₵15.50 per litre
- This marks the fifth straight drop in fuel prices since February 2025
Petrol prices are projected to fall by 1.5%, bringing the cost of a litre down to GH₵14.88, while diesel will decrease by 0.3%, reaching GH₵15.50.
Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) is also set to see a 0.3% reduction, priced at GH₵17.45 per kilogram.
This marks the fifth consecutive decline since February 2025, driven by a steady drop in crude oil prices from US$72 to US$64 per barrel.
Additionally, international prices for finished petroleum products, including diesel and LPG, have also decreased.
However, the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) has indicated that other factors, such as insurance and spare part costs, will continue to affect transport fares. GPRTU representatives have stated that transport fares may only decrease if fuel prices reach GH₵12 per litre.
The overall decline in fuel prices is expected to help reduce the cost of living, continuing the trend of falling prices since February.
