An 18-year-old woman, identified as Afia Nkor, has been found dead under suspicious circumstances in her room at Nweneso No.2, located in the Atwima Kwanwoma Municipality of the Ashanti Region. She is believed to have been murdered by unknown individuals.
According to reports, her mother made the grim discovery after returning from a funeral on Saturday, finding Afia in a pool of blood.
Fredrick Duah, the Assembly Member for Nweneso II, told Adom News that the victim had sustained a severe head injury, likely caused by a sharp object.
“The young woman was found with a deep cut on her head. The exact cause of the incident remains unknown as investigations continue,” Duah stated.
The police have since transported the body to the mortuary and are calling on the public to share any information that might help with their investigations.
Henry Acheampong, Afia’s brother, said the family is devastated and fearful following the incident. He appealed to authorities to improve security in the area to protect residents.
