The Bono Regional Office of the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) recovered GH¢835,579.69 in revenue for the Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo) between January and March 2025.

According to the PURC’s first-quarter 2025 report, which was shared with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani, the commission also secured an adjustment of GH¢16,263.74 in favor of consumers during the same period.

The report revealed that the commission handled a total of 263 complaints from both service providers and consumers, with 257 cases successfully resolved.

NEDCo accounted for the largest share of complaints, recording 239 complaints, which represented 90.88% of all cases. Ghana Water Limited received 23 complaints, while only one complaint was lodged against a consumer.

The report also highlighted that during the quarter, the Bono Regional Office organized 20 public education programs, engaging 2,836 consumers and distributing 795 flyers across the Bono and Ahafo Regions.

It emphasized that the commission’s activities focused on strengthening regulatory relevance to improve consumer welfare and promote regulatory excellence in both regions.

Additionally, the report noted that the office took proactive and strategic actions that contributed to significant progress in regulatory oversight, consumer protection, and overall service delivery across the Bono and Ahafo Regions.
