Former Ghana defender Isaac Vorsah has called on the Black Stars to stay focused and committed as they push for a spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Ghana currently tops Group I with 15 points, following an impressive resurgence during the March international break. The four-time African champions ended a six-match winless streak with a commanding 5-0 victory over Chad, followed by a 3-0 win against Madagascar.
Reflecting on the team’s recent performance, Vorsah expressed optimism about Ghana’s qualification chances but stressed the importance of sustained effort.
“We have to work harder, as we want to qualify. We have already qualified for me, but we have to do the work well, so that we can also go and watch some,” Vorsah told Citi Sports.
“So that we can be happy that as Ghanaians, we have also come to the World Cup,” he added.
Vorsah, who has represented Ghana in four major international tournaments—including the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa and three Africa Cup of Nations campaigns (2010, 2012, 2013)—understands the challenges of competing on the global stage.
The Black Stars will resume their World Cup qualification campaign in September 2025, with key fixtures lined up against Chad and Mali on Matchdays 7 and 8.
