A young girl named Tracy, whose spirited dance to Wendy Shay’s song “Too Late” went viral, has been rewarded with a life-changing gift from the artist herself.

Tracy, a student at Ridoana Comprehensive School in Ashaiman, gained widespread attention after a 30-second video of her passionately dancing and singing to the hit song surfaced online on April 3, 2025. While many admired her energy and talent, some criticized her outfit and expressions, calling them inappropriate for her age.

Wendy Shay, who had performed at the school during the All Ashaiman Schools Festival, returned to the campus to personally recognize Tracy. In a touching video shared on her social media, the singer addressed students and staff, praising Tracy’s passion and potential.

“A week ago, I performed here, and one shining star—Tracy—stood out, dancing and singing her heart out to my song ‘Too Late.’ The video went viral, and I’m here today to say thank you and reward my little star,” Wendy said.

She then announced a full educational scholarship for Tracy, covering her schooling from Class 5 through to university.

In addition to the scholarship, Wendy Shay gifted Tracy an undisclosed amount of money, assorted beverages, and other items as part of her appreciation.
