Andoni Iraola’s Vision for Bournemouth

Antoine Semenyo believes Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola is well-equipped for the top level, praising his impressive work at the club. The Spanish coach is aiming to become the first to guide the Cherries into European competition as they aim to finish the season strongly.

Bournemouth currently sits in 10th place in the league, eight points behind the final European spot held by Newcastle United.

In an interview with SuperSport, Semenyo spoke highly of his manager.

“He has the potential to be a top manager. He’s a great guy, and his player management is excellent,” Semenyo said. “I feel like he connects well with the players. He gets along with the team both on and off the pitch, which is so important. It’s key to have that relationship with the players off the pitch as much as on it. That’s why we’re where we are in the table.”

The Ghanaian forward has enjoyed a standout season under Iraola, recording nine goals and five assists across all competitions in 35 appearances—his best tally since joining Bournemouth from Bristol City.

“He’s given me freedom in attack. In training, I feel relaxed, I can go past players easily, take long shots, and have success. He’s given me the license to play that way in games too,” Semenyo explained. “But I also put in the work defensively, making recovery runs and doing what’s needed. I think that’s why I have the freedom I do. When we win the ball back, I’ve got all the space I need to attack.”

Semenyo has scored the third-most goals for Bournemouth in the league this season (7), behind Justin Kluivert (12) and Evanilson (9).
