CBG Appoints Dr. Naomi Wolali Kwetey as New MD

Consolidated Bank Ghana Ltd. (CBG) has announced the appointment of Dr. Naomi Wolali Kwetey as its new Managing Director, marking a significant leadership change at one of Ghana’s leading financial institutions. Dr. Kwetey officially steps into the role today, succeeding Daniel Wilson Addo, who served as the bank’s leader since its inception on August 1, 2018. The CBG Board expressed profound gratitude for Addo’s leadership, recognizing his contributions in establishing a solid foundation and guiding the bank through a pivotal and often challenging period. Board Chairman Yaw Asamoah stated, “Mr. Addo has been vital in laying the groundwork for the bank, navigating tough challenges, and ensuring its growth and stability. His legacy has made a lasting impact, and we wish him the best in his future endeavors.”

Dr. Kwetey brings over 30 years of experience in the financial industry, with expertise in corporate relationship management, treasury, credit administration, branch banking, marketing, and operational risk management.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Ghana, an MBA in International Banking and Finance from Birmingham Business School, and a Doctorate in Business Administration and Management from Nobel International Business School (NiBS).

As she assumes leadership at CBG, Dr. Kwetey is expected to spearhead transformative growth and innovation, focusing on the bank’s strategic priorities of SME lending, digital banking, and corporate partnerships. Her appointment underscores CBG’s ongoing commitment to providing customer-centric financial solutions and playing a pivotal role in Ghana’s economic development.
