The Kyidomhene of Brofoyedru in the Mampong Municipality of the Ashanti Region, Nana Osei Bonsu, has been killed by unknown assailants.
His lifeless body was discovered on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, though the motive for the attack remains unclear. He was found lying face-down in a pool of blood in front of his vehicle on the Boanim-Morim road.
A report by Adusei Poku of KAS FM, an affiliate of Adom News, stated that Nana Osei Bonsu had been on his way to deliver some items he was carrying to their rightful owner when the attack occurred. The chief was allegedly pulled from his vehicle, which had a temporary number plate, and shot at close range in the back of his head, causing a severe wound.
While his mobile phones were reportedly destroyed by the attackers, nothing else was taken from him.
The body has been taken to the Mampong Government Hospital’s morgue as authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragic murder.
