Attack on Herdsmen in Gomoa Amenfi Leaves Homes Destroyed and People Injured

Tensions in Gomoa Amenfi turned violent when six houses belonging to herdsmen were allegedly set on fire by local farmers following a dispute over crop destruction.
According to information gathered by Adom News, the violence began on Sunday after cattle from the herdsmen’s ranch damaged a local farmer’s pepper farm.
In retaliation, farm workers attacked the herdsmen’s settlement, setting fire to their homes and destroying personal belongings. Properties and cash worth thousands of cedis were lost in the blaze.
Two people, including an elderly woman who was asleep at the time of the attack, suffered burns as she couldn’t escape in time.
Herdsman Sully Iddrisu Adamu told Adom News that they are now living in fear, uncertain of when the attacks may happen again.
Currently, six individuals have been arrested by the Winneba Divisional Police Command in connection with the incident and are assisting with the investigation.
