A bus carrying 62 students from Ben Konadu SDA Basic School in Asante Akyem has been involved in a deadly accident on the Adukrom-Somanya road.
According to Citi Newsroom, several students are feared dead, with many others injured.
The tragic incident occurred on the Aseseeso stretch while the children were on an excursion to Akosombo. Eyewitnesses reported that the driver lost control while descending a hill, causing the bus to flip multiple times before coming to rest on its side.
The impact of the crash left several students trapped inside the wreckage, while others were thrown from the vehicle.
The injured students have been taken to the Yilo Krobo Municipal Hospital for treatment.
Emergency personnel from the Ghana Police Service, Ghana National Fire Service, and Ambulance Service quickly arrived at the scene to assist with the rescue efforts, working diligently to free the trapped victims and provide immediate medical care.
Authorities have not yet confirmed the exact number of casualties, as investigations continue to determine the cause of the accident.
