New Board to Lead Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation

A new six-member Board of Directors has been appointed for the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation (OOTIIF) in the United States. This comes as the foundation, established by the sixteenth Monarch of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, celebrates its 25th anniversary.
The Board, led by Nana Professor Oheneba Boachie-Adjei Woahene II, includes prominent individuals such as Barbara Acheampong, a Tax Accountant and CEO of Rhema Financial Services and Aseda Transport Inc.; Marlon W. Brown, the Founder and CEO of Clarendon Global Partners, LLC (CGP); and H.E. Lady Jiljuana J. Coleman, CEO of Jamerson Strategic Consulting, LLC. The remaining members are Dr. Sandi Williams, a Commissioner on The Philadelphia Commission for Women, and Nana Dr. Akuoku Boateng, the Medical Director at NYU Laurelton Medical Center in New York.
In his address commissioning the new Board, the Chairman, who also serves as Otumfuo Hiahene, emphasized that the Board members’ vast experience and passion for non-profit leadership and community development make them ideal partners in advancing the Foundation’s mission. He noted, “The new Board members bring a wealth of expertise in finance, philanthropy, economic empowerment, diplomacy, healthcare, and non-profit leadership.”
Founded in 2000 as the Otumfuo Education Fund, the Foundation has made a significant impact on the lives of millions of underprivileged individuals and communities in Ghana, offering hope and support to those in need.
The Foundation focuses on five key areas of national development: Education, Health, Culture and Heritage, Water and Sanitation, and Special Projects. Its flagship programs include a Dental Outreach initiative that offers free dental care to students and residents of rural areas, a mobile learning program designed to bridge the educational gap between rural and urban communities, and the Twi and English Reading Challenge in the Ashanti Region.
Additionally, the Foundation provides scholarships to bright but financially disadvantaged students pursuing degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), as well as other fields.
