Semenyo Hails Ghana Call-Up as an Honour

Black Stars forward Antoine Semenyo has expressed that it is always an “honour” to be called up to represent the national team.

He shared that playing for Ghana is a privilege, and the only time he would be unable to answer the call is if he were injured.

Semenyo played a key role in Ghana’s 5-0 victory over Chad in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers at the Accra Sports Stadium, scoring one of the goals. With 27 appearances for the Black Stars, he says he never takes the opportunity for granted.

“It’s an honour; I always want to be part of the national team,” Semenyo told SuperSport. “The only thing that could prevent me is injury, but I always try to make myself available.”

He added, “I’ve always wanted to play for my country. It’s been a dream of mine from a young age, so getting called up is always an honour.”

Having netted his third goal for Ghana, Semenyo will now shift his focus back to club football, as Bournemouth prepares to face Manchester City in the FA Cup this weekend.
