Over 100 women from the Suncity area of Adjei-Kojo in Tema West have taken a major step toward financial independence after completing a three-day workshop on producing liquid soap, shower gel, and Power Zone.

The workshop, organized by Renel Ghana International in partnership with the BHOG Foundation, aimed to provide women with key entrepreneurial skills to reduce dependency and promote economic development in the community.

Edita Wilson, a Tema West MCE hopeful, encouraged the participants to remain focused on their objectives and promised her full support as they work to expand their businesses. “I am always here to help you succeed, and I believe these skills will be a powerful asset for your personal and financial growth,” Wilson stated.

Building on the success of this training, similar sessions will be held in BBF and Kanewu, aiming to reach over 250 women and help them launch soap-making businesses. This initiative will not only promote individual growth but also contribute to local job creation, addressing the need for sustainable employment opportunities. Bernice Ocran Dodoo, Programs Manager at Renel Ghana International, highlighted the organization’s dedication to empowering women by equipping them with valuable skills to reduce dependency and strengthen the local economy. “At Renel Ghana, we are committed to supporting women and helping them build a foundation for financial independence,” Dodoo commented.

The training participants expressed their appreciation, with Joyce Barker, one of the attendees, sharing how the new skills would help ease the financial burden of paying her children’s school fees. “This training is a huge relief, and it will make a significant difference in my life and my children’s lives,” she said.

The initiative was also backed by Barikisu Mahei, a former Assembly Member candidate for Adjei-Kojo, who played an instrumental role in organizing the event. Mahei expressed her desire to expand the program to other communities within Tema West, ensuring that more women can benefit from this valuable opportunity.

This transformative program has equipped these women with the tools to start their own businesses, reduce dependency, and create opportunities for themselves and their families, leaving a lasting impact on the community.
