President John Mahama has appointed Abdallah Mashud, the Executive Director of the Africa Center for Retirement Research (ACRR), as the new Technical Director of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT).
The appointment, made on March 24, 2025, will see Mr. Mashud providing strategic direction and policy advice to the Trust. He is also expected to lead the Pension Reforms Agenda under President Mahama’s administration. Abdallah holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Master of Science in Actuarial Science from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
He has expertise in designing, administering, and governing public social security systems, with over ten years of experience at SSNIT. Prior to his appointment, he served as the Executive Director of ACRR, a policy think tank specializing in retirement systems. Additionally, he is a member of the International Network for Pension Research (INPeR). As a pension researcher and consultant, Mr. Mashud brings valuable knowledge and expertise in social security systems and governance to his new position.
