On Tuesday, a heavy downpour combined with strong winds led to the destruction of over 40 vehicles at the A&C Mall in East Legon, Accra.
The incident occurred when the car park’s solar panel structure collapsed under the force of the winds, causing significant damage to the vehicles below.
Viral images from the scene showed the shed torn apart by the wind, with numerous cars trapped beneath the debris.
In addition, trees in the car park were uprooted and fell onto some of the vehicles, further increasing the damage.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) was later called to the site to dismantle and remove the fallen solar panels.
