GFA Imposes ¢20k Fine on Hearts of Oak

Hearts of Oak has been fined ¢20,000 by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Disciplinary Committee.

According to a statement from the Committee on Tuesday, ¢10,000 of the fine has been suspended for the remainder of the season.

The sanction follows misconduct after their Ghana Premier League match against Young Apostles FC on March 8, 2025. The club was found guilty of allowing unaccredited individuals, particularly supporters, into the restricted zone, which compromised matchday security and tarnished the integrity of the game.

The club has been issued a warning and instructed to avoid further misconduct, with the threat of more severe penalties if the issue continues.

In a related matter, the Committee also imposed a ¢10,000 fine and a three-month suspended ban on Division One club Elmina Sharks for misconduct. This punishment follows an incident in which a player and supporters assaulted match officials during a match against Swedru All Blacks on February 16, 2025.
