  • Winning the game is key for Ghana's World Cup qualification

Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has labeled Ghana’s upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Madagascar as a “small final” as the team prepares for the match.

The game is the second of two qualifiers for Ghana in the current FIFA window, following their 5-0 victory over Chad on March 21. Ghana’s clash with Madagascar is set for 19:00 GMT on Monday, March 24, in Morocco, featuring the top two ranked teams in Group I.

Madagascar, ranked second in the group with 10 points and a +6 goal difference, will face Ghana, who lead the group with 12 points and a +7 goal difference. Otto Addo emphasizes the importance of this match, describing it as a crucial step toward qualification.

“We need everyone at 100%. This is like a small final, and if we win, we’re on track for qualification, but it will be a tough match,” said Addo. “We’ve analyzed Madagascar, and they are in good form, especially after their 4-1 win over the Central African Republic, so we expect a challenging game.”
