A fire broke out involving fuel tankers at Kpone, behind the GPHA terminal at the barrier, on March 24, 2025. At least three fuel tankers were engulfed in flames.
The Ghana National Fire Service quickly responded, sending five fire tenders to tackle the blaze.
Firefighters worked diligently to control the fire, successfully stopping it from spreading further.
Thanks to their efforts, the flames were eventually contained, preventing a potentially worse disaster. Authorities are now evaluating the damage and investigating the fire’s cause.
No casualties have been reported, though the fire caused alarm among residents and workers nearby.
Emergency services remain on standby as the situation is being closely monitored.
