A team of armed individuals, believed to be National Security agents, raided the private home of former Bank of Ghana (BoG) Governor, Dr. Ernest Addison, early on Wednesday morning.

The incident reportedly took place around 5 a.m. at Roman Ridge, while Dr. Addison was at home.

The operation was allegedly led by Richard Jakpa, Director of Special Operations at the National Security Secretariat. The group, consisting of 15 soldiers in three vehicles and carrying rifles, forcefully entered the property.

Upon arrival, the operatives quickly disabled the CCTV system and demanded Dr. Addison show them hidden “vaults” within the house. Despite his firm denial of any such vaults or money caches, the operatives proceeded to ransack the residence, leaving it in chaos. After a fruitless search, they reportedly called in National Security drivers to move four of Dr. Addison’s vehicles, leaving only two behind.

Before departing, they seized the CCTV monitor and control unit.

Sources reveal that later in the evening, the family was contacted and told to retrieve the seized vehicles, which were parked opposite Jokers Club in Labadi.

Dr. Addison and his family are said to be profoundly disturbed by the ordeal.

This incident follows a similar operation at the Cantonments residence of former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta a month ago, while he was abroad.

On February 11, 2025, a group of 12 individuals, including nine military personnel, plainclothes officers, and two other agents, reportedly entered Mr. Ofori-Atta’s home without a warrant or prior notification.
