Ghana Innovation Tour highlighting Tech Hubs and Startups

Story Highlights
  • GHN collaborates with Building Bytes for the Ghana Innovation Tour
  • Showcasing innovations beyond Greater Accra across Ghana
  • Featuring live events and collaborations to boost hub visibility

The Ghana Hubs Network (GHN) has formed a strategic alliance with Building Bytes, a media platform dedicated to sharing stories about Ghana’s tech and digital economy, to launch the Ghana Innovation Tour. This national initiative aims to showcase the impact of tech hubs and entrepreneurs driving digital transformation throughout Ghana.

As part of the partnership, Building Bytes will document innovation hubs across the country through storytelling and live events, offering a closer look at the startup and digital economy beyond Greater Accra.

The Ghana Innovation Tour will highlight hub founders, startups, ecosystem enablers, and groundbreaking innovations from various regions, providing a comprehensive view of Ghana’s tech landscape. The project will kick off with a pilot episode featuring Duapa Werkspace in Takoradi. Yaw Antwi Owusu, Team Lead at Insights Lab (producers of Building Bytes), emphasized the importance of building on existing knowledge and proven systems to support tech builders.

“At Building Bytes, we believe that tech builders, whether founders or professionals, should not start from scratch. They should build on existing knowledge, tested processes, and proven systems. The Ghana Innovation Tour will provide valuable insights into what it takes to grow startups and careers in Ghana’s digital economy—not only in Accra but across the country. By showcasing innovation in key regions beyond Greater Accra, we aim to ensure no idea or opportunity goes unnoticed. We are thrilled to partner with the Ghana Hubs Network to bring this vision to life and highlight the stories shaping Ghana’s digital future,” Owusu said.

Yaw Adu Gyamfi, Chairman of GHN, described the collaboration as a vital step toward increasing the visibility of hubs and scaling their impact.

“This partnership with Building Bytes gives hubs nationwide a platform to showcase their startups, innovations, and market-driven solutions. We expect this initiative to boost the visibility of hubs, attract strategic partnerships, and expand their impact,” Gyamfi noted.

The Ghana Innovation Tour will go beyond documentation, incorporating community engagement, live events, and industry collaborations to ensure broad reach. GHN will facilitate access to its member hubs, enabling Building Bytes to connect with founders, workers, and innovators shaping Ghana’s digital future. The series will serve as a resource for investors, policymakers, and aspiring entrepreneurs, offering insights into the challenges, successes, and business models of innovation hubs outside the capital.

Next Steps
The pilot episode will premiere in June 2025, with additional episodes scheduled throughout the year. GHN and Insights Lab will collaborate to secure funding through sponsorships, grants, and partnerships to expand the project.
