NACOC Arrest Long-Time Drug Trafficker in Accra

The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has successfully apprehended a long-standing drug trafficking suspect, Uchechukwu Chima, in a major intelligence-driven operation conducted at Oyarifa, a suburb of Accra.

Chima, a 56-year-old Nigerian national, was arrested on Tuesday, March 18, following a search of his residence, which led to the discovery of 192 kg of cocaine and 0.42 kg of heroin. Preliminary field tests confirmed the substances to be narcotics, with an estimated street value of approximately $2.1 million.

Chima, who has been under NACOC’s surveillance for some time, is believed to have played a central role in several previous drug-related arrests and seizures.

This arrest marks a significant milestone in Ghana’s ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking. The confiscation of these narcotics is expected to prevent potential harm and save countless lives that could have been affected by the drugs.

NACOC remains steadfast in its commitment to making Ghana an unattractive destination for drug traffickers and ensuring the safety of its citizens and the global community.
