Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has reaffirmed the country’s dedication to building stronger relations with India, particularly in agricultural technology and infrastructure development.
During his trip to India, Mr. Ablakwa underscored the significance of utilizing India’s expertise to drive economic growth and sustainable progress in Ghana.
In a meeting with Indian Foreign Minister, His Excellency Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Mr. Ablakwa emphasized the common objectives shared by both nations in strengthening economic ties.
“Ghana is eager to work with India to tap into its expertise in agricultural technology and infrastructure development,” he stated. “This partnership will create new avenues for knowledge sharing and investment.”
He highlighted Ghana’s goal to modernize its agriculture and improve infrastructure, areas where India’s advancements—especially in irrigation, mechanization, and food processing—could greatly support Ghana’s progress.
The Foreign Minister also pointed out the opportunity for collaboration in infrastructure, focusing on road construction, energy, and smart city projects. “India’s experience in these areas is invaluable, and we look forward to deepening our collaboration to accelerate Ghana’s economic transformation,” he remarked.
Mr. Ablakwa’s visit, which came at the invitation of his Indian counterpart, represents a key milestone in enhancing the diplomatic and economic ties between the two nations.
He reiterated Ghana’s commitment to developing mutually beneficial partnerships and expressed confidence that strengthened cooperation with India would contribute to Ghana’s long-term development objectives.
