President Mahama’s X account recovered following a hack

- Mahama's X account was compromised to promote a scam
- The scam falsely linked Mahama to Solana Africa
- Mahama thanked supporters as the account was recovered
President John Dramani Mahama’s official X account (@JDMahama) has been restored after being compromised for several hours.
The account was hacked on March 16, 2025, and used to promote a dubious cryptocurrency scam called Solana Africa, which generated mixed reactions.
The fraudulent post falsely claimed that the project, “led by Ghana’s President John Mahama,” aimed to make payments across Africa free using the Solana blockchain.
After regaining control of his account, President Mahama thanked his supporters for their assistance during the incident. In a post, he said, “Thank you for your inquiries and offers to help. My team, in collaboration with X support, has successfully restored my account.”
The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) initially stated that it was working closely with X and other relevant parties to investigate and address the hack.
