President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in Sierra Leone for an official visit aimed at enhancing the relationship between the two West African nations.
The visit is set to focus on strengthening cooperation in trade, infrastructure, and regional affairs.
Joyce Bawah Mogtari, Special Aide to President Mahama, announced the visit on Facebook on March 18, 2025, revealing that the discussions between the two leaders will cover areas of mutual interest such as economic partnerships, social infrastructure, and regional collaboration.
Ghana and Sierra Leone share a long-standing relationship, marked by mutual support during crises and collaborative development efforts.
In January 2025, Sierra Leone’s President Julius Maada Bio attended President Mahama’s inauguration in Accra, further solidifying the bond between the two countries.
President Mahama’s visit is expected to build on this strong foundation, fostering economic growth and regional stability.
Both countries are prominent members of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), and their partnership is viewed as vital for advancing peace and development in the region.
