After nearly 30 years without a Mankrado, the Sokode Traditional Council in the Ho Central Municipality of the Volta Region is set to introduce Mr. Selorm Forster Amevor as its new Mankrado.
He will take on the title Togbe Wusu Krakrani III, following in the footsteps of his late father, Togbe Wusu II.
The installation ceremony, scheduled for March 22, 2025, in Sokode Gbogame, marks a significant milestone for the traditional council.
Speaking to Adom News, Mr. Lawrence Dzapete, a cousin of the newly elected Mankrado, emphasized the importance of the installation.
He noted that the 29-year vacancy had prevented the installation of new chiefs, as all new chiefs are required to swear an oath to the Mankrado. Mr. Winfred Kwamla, the stool father (Zikpitor), also expressed happiness over the long-awaited ceremony, stating that the absence of a Mankrado had greatly affected the council’s leadership.
Togbe Wusu Krakrani III, born on March 29, 1975, completed his O and A Levels at Kpando Senior High School (KPANSEC) in 1994 and 1996. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences and an Executive MBA from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and is currently pursuing a degree in Business Risk Management at Boston University, USA.
His professional experience includes positions at Women in the Lord’s Vineyard in Accra, Standard Chartered Bank, Coca-Cola, and his current role as Territory Sales Controller at Scancom Ghana Limited (MTN Ghana).
The installation of Togbe Wusu Krakrani III is expected to restore traditional governance in Sokode and enable the smooth installation of chiefs in the area.
